Frequently asked questions
How do I get in touch?
Email info@madcomps.com or contactus@madcomps.com and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
I did not get my confirmation or reset email
Account emails come from Mad Comps UK at info@madcomps.com and usually arrive within a few minutes. Check your spam or junk folder, and add info@madcomps.com to your contacts. Each link works once, so always use the newest one. Still nothing? Ask for another from the login page, or email us and we will help.
Where are you based?
Mad Comps UK is a UK-based business. Free UK shipping is included in every competition, and winners abroad cover the shipping cost themselves. Anything else, email info@madcomps.com.
When is a competition drawn?
Entries close when all 100 tickets are sold, or at the competition's closing date, whichever comes first. Where a competition has a closing date, it is shown on the competition in UK time; a competition without one runs until all 100 tickets are sold. The winner is then drawn from the tickets sold and any free entries, within 24 hours of the draw becoming due; tickets reserved before the closing date can still be paid for first.
Do I need an account to enter?
No. You can buy tickets as a guest with just your name and email address. Answer the skill question, choose up to 5 tickets, pay by PayPal (or by card through PayPal) or bank transfer. Your ticket numbers appear on screen straight away, and once your payment is confirmed we email them to you. An account is free and optional: it keeps your tickets in one place. Trading on the card marketplace needs a paid membership.
I bought tickets as a guest. How do I see them?
When you reserve, we show you a private ticket link. Keep it: it shows your ticket numbers, whether your payment has arrived and whether you won. The device you used remembers it for a while: until the hold ends if you do not pay, and until 30 days after the draw once your tickets are paid, unless you press Forget my tickets on this device. On another device, use the link, or create a free account with the same email address, where paid tickets show too. Anyone with the link can see your tickets, so do not share it. We do not email the link automatically.
I lost my private ticket link.
Email info@madcomps.com from the email address you used, with the competition number (for example MC-0127). We will check and send you a new link, and the old one stops working.
Can I move my guest tickets into an account later?
Yes. Create a free account with the same email address and confirm it. Paid tickets you bought as a guest with that address appear in your account. Tickets still waiting for payment stay on your private link until they are paid.
How long are guest tickets held before I pay?
The exact time is shown when you reserve. It is currently 60 minutes for PayPal and 72 hours for a bank transfer (at most 24 hours after a competition's closing date). Tickets reserved from an account are held for 24 hours, or 7 days for a bank transfer. If payment does not arrive in time, the numbers go back on sale.
Can I pay by card without a PayPal account?
Usually, yes. Choose Debit or Credit Card under the PayPal button. PayPal decides when it offers card payment without an account; if it does not, you can log in to PayPal or pay by bank transfer instead.
When are my tickets confirmed?
PayPal payments are confirmed as soon as PayPal confirms the payment to us. Bank transfers are confirmed when we match them on our bank statement. Either way we email your ticket numbers once they are confirmed.
I paid but my tickets still say waiting
Keep the page open while PayPal confirms the payment to us; your numbers stay held for you meanwhile. If PayPal holds a payment for review and completes it while your numbers are still free, your tickets are confirmed and emailed; otherwise you are refunded in full. Email info@madcomps.com with your reference if you have any questions.
How will you contact me if I win?
By email, at the address you gave. Please check it carefully when you enter. Your private ticket link also shows when you have won.
What if a competition does not sell out?
If it has a closing date, it still goes ahead: the draw is made from the tickets sold and the free entries claimed by the closing date, so tickets are not refunded because a competition did not sell out. If there are none, there is no draw. A competition without a closing date runs until all 100 tickets are sold.
Can I get a refund on something I bought from another member?
Buying through the site is not open yet, so sales and trades on Card Trading are arranged between the seller and the buyer, and refunds and returns are agreed between you and the other member. Mad Comps UK is not a party to the sale. This does not affect any rights you have by law.
What are your opening times?
We answer emails Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00, and Saturday, 10:00 to 14:00.
